Tilden Hike, accessible to all levels - Sunday, Jan 17, 10:30 am
Description: We’ll take very scenic trails around the Nature Center Area, little ups and downs for 2.5 mi. With an early opt-out for those who want to return after 1 mile. And for those wanting more of a workout we’ll include a climb to Wildcat Peak, for sweeping Bay Area views and a total of almost 5 mi. All at your own pace.
When: Sunday, Jan 17, 10:30 am
Where: Meet in front of the Tilden Nature Center (EEC)
Bring: Layered clothing for variable weather, hiking boots or trail shoes; hiking poles are optional
Directions: From North Berkeley take Spruce St to top; cross the intersection with Grizzly Peak Blvd and go downhill on Canon Rd. At the bottom of Canon turn left into the parking lot. Walk to the end of the parking lot, and beyond to the Nature Center.
Carpools: If you can provide a ride, especially from North Berkeley BART or Rockridge BART, please post to the Nature Walks email forum. (Or write to Celeste at celesteburrows@sbcglobal.net). And post to the forum (or write Celeste) if you need a ride and from where.
Transit: From downtown Berkeley the # 67 bus departs at 10:15 and is due at the Nature Center at 10:30.
Weather: Real rain cancels. In case of drizzly or iffy weather bring umbrella and rain jacket. The trails are sheltered and the park is lovely in and after a rain.
