This moderate beautiful walk starts at the Redwood Bowl Staging Area and heads southeast on the West Ridge trail, passing briefly through the towering redwood forest that the park is famous for. After a mild up and down half mile, we will turn R onto Baccharis trail (mild downhill) for ¼ mile, then R again onto the Dunn trail for another mild downhill mile through pines, arching oaks and bay trees. At the lowest point, we join the Graham trail and gradually (until the last ¼ mile) regain the altitude we’ve lost for 1 mile. The last ¼ mile is a little steep. The trail is well-maintained dirt the entire way. Over all, there is about a 400 ft elevation gain. Heavy rain a day ahead or on the day cancels.
Options of lesser and greater length are available for those who want more or less challenge
