WHERE: Tilden Regional Park, Vollmer Peak Entrance, Seaview Trail.

Nature Walk, moderate.
Description: Great views to east (Mt Diablo and the central valley) and to the west (Berkeley, The Bay, SF, Golden Gate and beyond) cloud cover permitting. Definite ups and downs for 1.5 miles, with a less demanding start on the Vollmer Peak Trail for those who want to return after an easier first mile. Audre Newman will lead.
Where to meet: We will meet in the parking lot for the Seaview/East Bay Skyline National Trail/Bay Area Ridge Trail, at the Vollmer Peak entrance, south end of Tilden Park, near the Tilden Steam Train
What to bring: Binoculars if you have them, good hiking shoes or boots for the trails, layered clothing for variable weather. Hiking poles are optional for the dirt trail. Layered clothing for variable weather. The trail is mostly on the ridge line so if it is hot and sunny be prepared for that too, with water, wind, and sun protection.
Real rain cancels. In case of drizzly or iffy weather bring umbrella and rain jacket.
How to get there:
Directions: Drive to the intersection of Grizzly Peak Blvd and Lomas Cantadas Rd at the South end of Tilden Park. Turn at the sign for the Tilden Park Steam Trains. Do not park in the Steam Trains Lot, but bear right into the last parking lot at the trailhead for Seaview/East Bay Skyline National Trail/Bay Area Ridge Trail. We will meet near the portable toilet at the south end of the parking lot. GPS coordinates: Vollmer Peak entrance: 37.88135°N / 122.22220°W
