An Update
by Arlene Reiff and Mary Graham
Our Forum Follow-Up Coordinators, Village members Arlene Reiff and Mary Graham, are coordinating the projects generated from the recommendations members gave at the October Forum on Strengthening our Community. They will work closely with staff and team members to keep track of the status of Forum follow-up projects. Here’s what’s happening now:
New Projects
“New Kids on Our Block”- New Member Mixer, February 7, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Beginning on Friday, February 7th, Ashby Village will host its first “New Member Mixer.” Welcome, New Kids on our Block! Look for further information in the Announcements section below.
Monthly Social Hour Reimagined
Based on feedback from the Forum, the Communications Interest Group (CIG) realized there was a need to make the Social Hour more friendly and welcoming. As a result, they now have greeters to personally welcome members and will circulate to encourage informal member-to-member connections.
New Ashby Village Team Directory on our Website
One of the emerging themes from the Forum is the need for better understanding of who is doing what. Accordingly, a new Ashby Village Team Directory is now on-line, complete with staff and team lead names to contact and lists of all the impressive teams available for Ashby Village members. If you are interested in joining or learning more about any of the teams, please contact the person listed.
Check out the link here or click on "Team Directory" under our "About Us" tab.
Updates from the Board and Participation in Committees
The Ashby Village Board of Directors has been actively creating new protocols for information sharing and inclusion. The feature story of the March Village Voices will tell you more.
Projects in the Works
Two member surveys will be sent to all members – the first will launch February 17th
- To learn more about your experience with the Village and to help us improve our services to fit your needs.
- To get your input and suggestions for strengthening our programs and communication.
New Updated Resource Guide for Social Care Services
The Social Care Team is in the midst of updating the resource guide, Home Health Care Agencies and Independent Service Providers, designed to provide information if members need referrals. The guide will be posted on-line. A member rating will also be included for these services as a helpful tool for making decisions.
Our Website
In response to the Forum feedback, a more robust and interactive website will be created that will allow easy member-to-member communication. Stay tuned!
