A collaboration between Berkeley Adult School and the Ashby Village Healthier Aging Team.

This course is designed as a weekly exercise class for those wishing to build strength, increase flexibility and have a fun time moving to music with others.

Weekly attendance is encouraged because the levels of both difficulty and complexity increase throughout the semester.

We spend the first 1/2 hour of class doing stretch and strength work in chairs. The second 1/2 hour we dance as a group doing simple routines which work on coordination, rhythm, and balance. The last 1/2 hour we work with theraband to build upper body strength.

The class includes some short anatomy lessons designed to help the students better understand the structure and function of the muscular and skeletal systems.

All of the moving is done to music, which ranges from classical to popular songs.

All are welcome and everything we do can be modified as needed.
