Description:  The Seaview Trail is a wide dirt fire road that, after a paved, fairly steep ½ mile, follows the ridge up and down moderate hills for 1½ miles before we turn around and head back.  Wonderful views to the west of Marin County, Golden Gate Bridge and the City in the distance.  To the east we can see Mt. Diablo, Briones Park and beyond, on a clear day. Moderate to challenging, depending on your speed and the trails selected.

For those who wish a less challenging walk, the Volmer Peak trail skirts the peak and joins the Seaview Trail without gaining much altitude.

Where to meet: We will meet in the overflow parking lot for the Tilden Steam Trains, Grizzly Peak Blvd at Lomas Cantadas Rd.  There is an accessible toilet there.

What to bring: Good hiking shoes or boots for the trails, layered clothing for variable weather, water, windbreaker, snacks. Hiking poles are optional, but always a good idea for the longer option.

How to get there:
Drive to Grizzly Peak Blvd via either Centennial Drive, or Spruce. Go south on Grizzly peak to Lomas Cantadas, turn left. Turn left again and proceed to the overflow parking lot beyond the lot for the Steam Trains and to the right.

Carpools: If you need a ride or can give a ride, please "respond to all" when you receive the announcement email for arranging a pickup near your home or at a BART station. PUBLIC TRANSIT: see AC TRANSIT by calling 511, or on the internet at 511.org.
