Elder Action and Embracing Change Presents:
Healthcare and Long-Term Care
In the Age of Covid
Jodi Reid of the California Alliance for Retired Americans, California’s largest grassroots senior advocacy organization, will address what we have learned about our statewide public health system as well as long-term care alternatives as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. She will also address efforts to achieve a universal long-term care benefit and some form of single-payer healthcare in the State of California.
Jodi Reid is the Executive Director of CARA, as well as the Northern CA Organizer. She has been with CARA since its founding convention in 2003. Prior to working with CARA, Jodi helped to found the Senior Action Network in San Francisco (now called Senior Disability Action). She has organized around senior housing, and healthcare issues for the last 40 years at the local, state, and national levels.
Along with Elder Action, a social justice interest group in Ashby Village, CARA is a member of CADA, the California Aging and Disabilities Alliance dedicated to achieving major reforms in how we finance and provide long-term care.
