Monday Morning Walk - Cesar Chavez Park

When: Monday, Aug. 9 10am - 12 noon

Where: Meet at Sea Breeze Cafe and Deli, 598 Universty Ave, Berkeley at 10 am.

Open to: Members and their guests, and Volunteers 

Accessibility:Accessible to wheelchairs and walkers

Description:   We will meet in the very large parking lot at the back of the Sea Breeze Cafe and Deli, 598 University Ave, Berkeley at 10 am.  There are bathrooms here.  We will then walk across the Berkeley Meadow restoration (quarter mile) and join the Cesar Chavez loop, benches and bathrooms available along the way.  We can return via the Berkeley Marina (half mile), or the Meadow trail.  Shirley has a wealth of information and will share the history of the Meadow and the mouth of Strawberry Creek restoration. The 1.5 mile Cesar Chavez loop trail itself features wild flowers, a beautiful view and is good for all skill levels. We will have walk leaders to accommodate various walking speed and distances.

Directions and Parking: - — Take the 880 University Ave exit west on University to  the Sea Breeze Cafe and Deli at 598 University.
What to bring: Good walking shoes, layered clothing for variable weather by the bay, water, windbreaker. 


Transportation:Public transport — 51B stops outside the Sea Breeze. Need a ride? Members can request a ride from the Ashby Village office- 510-204-9200. Or have a guest bring you, and join you on the walk.

Covid restrictions:
As it is outdoors -  All are welcome! If you are vaccinated, you don’t need to wear a mask. If you are not vaccinated, you must wear a mask.
