A Healthier Aging Workshop Series for Ashby Villagers with Impaired Vision
Orientation
A collaboration between the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Ashby Village offers an encore presentation of the free series of one-hour virtual sessions beginning August 25 at 2:00 p.m., which will continue monthly through October.
The LightHouse Connection series is intended to provide information and resources offered by LightHouse as a supplement to Ashby Village’s ongoing Low Vision Support Group discussions. There is no obligation to attend all LightHouse Connection sessions. For more information on the LightHouse Connection sessions or the Low Vision Support Group, please contact info@ashbyvillage.org.
Sheri Albers, Community Outreach Coordinator for LightHouse, will conduct this first session in the series, LightHouse Orientation, and she promises that those who attend will hear about the wide variety of programs available. “We hope people will realize you can be independent, self-reliant and on an equal plane to your sighted peers in every aspect of your life from cooking, working on your computer, using Uber and riding mass transit."
At the LightHouse Orientation, Sheri will tell her personal story and the struggles she faced as her vision deteriorated. “I want people not to be afraid and to know what exciting solutions are available,” she says.
Join us to learn more about how the LightHouse can help anyone with impaired vision find the tools and everyday strategies needed to remain independent, and self-reliant.
