You will need to see the film first on your own and then we will all get together via Zoom to discuss our reactions.
Winner of four Oscars, including "Best Picture" and “Best Actor,” this historical drama film is about England's Prince Albert (Colin Firth), who must ascend the throne as King George VI in 1936, and the Australian eccentric speech therapist who helps the unsure monarch overcome his nervous stammer.
Knowing that the country needs her husband to be able to communicate effectively, Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter) hires Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush), an Australian actor and speech therapist, to help him overcome his stammer. An extraordinary friendship develops between the two men, as Logue uses unconventional means to teach the monarch how to speak with confidence.
