Often those living alone may feel at a loss when faced with basic home safety/maintenance/repair issues. Even interacting with a handyman who is going to do the actual work may seem overwhelming.
This presentation includes:
• Common Home Hazards & Quick Fixes
• Shut Offs in an Emergency (gas, water, electricity)
• Your House is Aging Too (lifespans - roof, appliances, plumbing, paint)
• Tips for talking to Home Repair Contractors
Speakers:
Ashby Village member Roger Newman (home safety assessments) and popular plumber Naomi Friedman, a
retired professional plumber
, specializing in teaching women technical skills, including CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) classes for the City of Berkeley.
