Description:
Easy (little elevation gain) to Moderate walking, elevation gain 300 ft/2 miles. Marvelous views of the north bay, Marin, Richmond, El Cerrito, Albany from the top of the grassy ridge.  The more challenging option involves more elevation gain, more views, and more varied landscape. The hills should be starting to green up.

Where to meet:
We will meet in the parking lot at the end of Monte Cresta Avenue, Richmond.

What to bring: Good hiking shoes or boots for the trails, layered clothing for variable weather, water, windbreaker, snacks. Hiking poles are optional, but a good idea for the longer option.  Rain cancels.

How to get there:  North on Interstate 80 to the San Pablo Dam Road Exit, # 18.  Turn right on San Pablo Dam Road. After ~25 yds, turn right at the light onto Morrow Drive. Turn left onto Hillcrest Road at the T. Turn on the second right onto Bonita Road. At the 4th intersection turn left onto Monte Cresta Ave. Park at the far end of Monte Cresta Ave. NO toilet facilities at the trailhead. :-(

Carpools: If you need a ride or can give a ride, call or email Audre a few days in advance for arranging a pickup near your home or at a BART station. PUBLIC TRANSIT: see AC TRANSIT by calling 511, or on the internet at 511.org.
