Description Pt. Pinole is a great park with lots of options (http://www.ebparks.org/parks/pt_pinole) : gorgeous views of Marin, San Francisco and beyond, crisscrossed with pathways through meadows and eucalyptus forests; tidal marshes and interesting history. The walk can be easy to challenging, depending on your speed.
Where to meet: We will meet at the signboard near the parking area at 5551 Giant Highway, Richmond, CA
What to bring: Binoculars if you have them, good hiking shoes or boots for the trails, layered clothing for variable weather. Hiking poles are optional. Bring umbrellas if showers are forecast. Heavy rain cancels.
How to get there:
Directions: From I-80 in Richmond, exit at the Richmond Parkway heading west. From the Richmond Parkway, turn right onto Giant Highway and proceed to the park entrance.
OR take Atlas Road from Richmond Parkway, turn left at Giant Highway, pass Detention Center on right, turn right into park entrance, 5551 Giant Highway, Richmond, Ca.
