Nimitz Blue Moon BYO Dinner Hike

RSVP to Claire Heinzelman : 650- 619-4016

WHEN: Monday, April 30, 6 - 8 pm

WHERE: Nimitz Trail

Hike at 6:00. Sunset is at 7:59 so we will have lovely views of the sun set over the Golden Gate and hopefully a moon rise of a blue moon (the second full moon of April) over Mt. Diablo that same evening!

Please come with a warm jacket!  Nimitz Trail is a relatively level walk on a paved fire road along the ridge line. It offers views of both San Francisco Bay and inland valleys, both quite beautiful at this time of year with the spring green of our winter months emerging! This is a dry hike regardless of rain in the preceding days.

Bring a bag dinner for a picnic  after the hike!

Meet: Inspiration Point - Central Picnic Table.
Meet at the table in the center of the parking lot!

Directions: Follow Grizzly Peak Blvd. to the Shasta Entrance to Tilden Park. Follow Shasta Road down and at signs for Brazil Building keep right. After signs for the Botanic Gardens stay to the left and follow Wildcat Canyon Road for a little more than one mile. Inspiration Point will be on the left.

NOTE: This location is quite a winding drive so leave time to get there. Public Transportation does not serve this part of Tilden Park. Call for ride share one week ahead.

Parking: There is plenty of parking in the lot. Water, sun hat, wind breaker and or rain gear depending on weather/temperature. Walking sticks are not required but feel free to bring if you choose. I will provide table cloth and lantern for our after hike feasting!

Please RSVP to Claire Heinzelman 650 619-4016
