Open to members and volunteers who live in Midlandish.
Judy Turley, who lives in Midlandish, has agreed to host a couple of potlucks over the summer
as a chance for Midlanders to discover each other, why they've joined Ashby Village and what interests they might have. To give people a range of options, the potlucks will be one a month, each at a different time of day and on a different day.
Since time slots that have been successful for other Ashby Village neighborhoods are Saturday morning brunch and Sunday afternoon supper, those will be the choices this time. Those dates are: Saturday, June 16 at 10 AM, and Sunday, July 15, at 5 PM.
The focus of these gatherings is us, not culinary creations worthy of Julia Child!
The location of both initial potlucks will be Judy's home (1421 Sacramento Street). Since the house is on a bit of a rise, there are several steps to the front door. ***If steps present a problem, please let Judy know! There is a driveway that leads to the back of the lot, and Judy can leave it available so that people can be dropped off at the back door, where there only are 1 then 2 steps.
Street parking is available, although sometimes a bit of a walk because we're close to the Monterey Market.
Please RSVP to Judy so she can have enough tableware! If there is interest in further get-togethers after the initial two, perhaps members can choose a Midlandish cafe to meet on a different day. Judy and her husband saw an exhibit at the Berkeley Historical Society that was about the McGee Tract, which is in the center of Midlandish and a place with a very interesting history. If current Midlanders are half as interesting, they should find each other to be appealing company!
