About this event
Matt Davis Trail from Pantoll Ranger Station, Mt. Tam, Marin County
Hosted by Audre Newman
The Matt Davis Trail offers an ecologically varied route from the Pantoll Ranger Station to Stinson Beach. Visitors will enjoy open grasslands high along Bolinas Ridge, Douglas fir forests, coastal chaparral, ocean views, and beach access. The trail is a narrow dirt trail that traverses the west facing slope of Mt. Tam, first through a stretch of redwoods and then across grassy slopes. Great views of the Pacific Ocean and the coastline of San Francisco to the south, Pt. Reyes to the north. It should be a good time of the year to see the beautiful wild flowers. We encourage members to bring their own lunches as the trip will take the better part of the day.
