INTRO to Walking with Poles for Balance & Mobility

Meet at Ashby Village Office
Friday, Sept. 4, 2:30-3:30 pm
 
Expert trainer, Jayah Faye Paley, will explain the benefits of pole walking to prevent falls and maintain mobility.
This introduction will lay the foundation you need to know about differences in walking pole models, human anatomy and your gait.    
 

During this 1 hour introduction we will:

  • learn foundational aspects of walking with poles
  • review relevant human anatomy to understand healthy walking
  • review the top quality walking pole models
Please note this not a hiking class. This event is informational only.
 

This event is a prerequisite for the "Walking with Poles Class" at the Berkeley Marina, on Tues., Sept 15, 1:30 pm.

This class will feature:
  • Custom fitting with the pole best suited for the walking you want to do
  • Skill-building for optimal walking with poles
  • Individualized attention to help you achieve your goals

jayah paleyAbout the Instructor:  Jayah Faye Paley

Jayah is an AFAA & ACE-certified Personal Trainer, is the creator of the only comprehensive educational media on how to use poles, which includes two award-winning DVD's.

 

For over 15 years, she has trained people of all ages, abilities and physical conditions (such as Parkinson's, MS, arthritis, diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, etc.) as well as athletes, trainers and physical therapists to use poles to achieve, regain and maintain mobility for hiking and walking. She has authored and delivers courses which provide continuing education credits for personal trainers.
