For lunch this month, a destination that other neighbourhood groups have used, but which is new to us: Le Bateau Ivre at 2629 Telegraph, Berkeley. This is a long-time favourite Berkeley rendezvous (I first ate there over 30 years ago –gasp!)
DATE: this is a great destination, but like many local restaurants, it’s closed on Mondays. I’m hoping that most of you will be able to come on a Wednesday, since it is off-season for Water Aerobics, which in sunnier days occupies that spot in the month.
SO: we’ll meet up on WEDNESDAY February 24, at 12:30.
There is on-street parking (somewhat competitive), and parking in the CVS lot nearby, if you dare.
PLEASE BRING CASH. Once again, let’s follow the plan of the Thousand Oaks Hamlet, and adopt the thirty percent rule. Figure out the total for your own food and drink, and add thirty percent (ten percent for tax, twenty percent for tip). Throw the total amount into the pot, and we should be done.
