Pulitzer-prizewinning columnist Connie Schultz will speak about her new bestselling novel The Daughters of Erietown, a powerful probe of the deep truths and moving stories of three generations of women in rural Ohio, exploring issues from the dignity of work to teen pregnancy and shattered dreams.
Connie Schultz is a nationally syndicated columnist and journalist. She worked at The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper and in 2005 won the Pulitzer for “her pungent columns that provided a voice for the underdog and underprivileged.” She resigned from the paper to avoid a conflict of interest when her husband, Sherrod Brown, now senior Democratic Senator for Ohio, first ran for office. She has written a memoir of her experiences on the campaign trail,And His Lovely Wife, published in 2007. Schultz writes a column called “Views” for Parade and is a frequent contributor to The Huffington Post. A graduate of Kent State University, Schultz currently teaches journalism there.
