As always, the safety of our members and volunteers is of utmost importance, and therefore proof of full vaccination* will be required for giving or receiving any of these services.

Wearing of masks (N95 or KN95 highly recommended) - sanitizing of hands, and whenever possible maintaining social distancing - is REQUIRED for any indoors services (as per the city health order on August 2, 2021). For rides and MedPal services, members should sit in the back seat of the car and windows should remain down if possible.

For members or volunteers who cannot receive the vaccine for medical reasons or have decided not to be vaccinated, please know that you are still able to receive or provide virtual or outdoor services (i.e. Connections, virtual tech support, gardening...) - masks and social distancing are recommended. Ashby Village Meeting and Event COVID Safety Protocol (updated October 13, 2021)

  • Those who are fully vaccinated* may meet for outdoor meetings and gatherings, masks optional.
  • Those who are fully vaccinated may also meet for indoor meetings and gatherings, with mask-wearing required.
  • Please refrain from gathering with more than twenty people.
  • Visits to the AV office will be available with advance arrangement – please either call us at (510) 204-9200 or email us at to make an appointment.
  • Committees and teams may begin to meet in person, preferably outdoors, or in a hybrid format as Tech Team availability allows.
*At this point, “fully vaccinated” means two weeks after having the initial two shots of either Pfizer or Moderna, or the initial one shot of Johnson & Johnson. At some point after they are more widely available, we may modify our definition of “fully vaccinated” to include boosters, which people are strongly encouraged to get.
