To edit the text in the left column, highlight and select the text and either type or paste in from a plain text editor. Do not paste from Word or a rich text editor as the formatting may be inserted. To insert a link in the right hand column, click in an empty space and use the Link Builder tool accessed from the editor toolbar. Links will automatically format. To change or replace the image, right click and select replace image from the context menu. Highlight and select the image caption to change or delete the text.
Annual Campaign 2018 in Full Swing!

With our traditional annual fall campaign in full swing, now is the time to think about making a gift to Ashby Village—we are well on our way to our goal of $150,000, and every gift helps!
The importance of the annual campaign is clear when you consider that our dues don’t cover all expenses. In fact, about 1/3 of our annual budget comes from charitable support from members, volunteers and other members of our vibrant community. The It Takes A Village program, which helps cover fees for lower income members, is also made possible by your generous support.
There are many ways to make a gift to Ashby Village— which might be best for you? Many people find giving appreciated securities advantageous. Others give through the website at the Donate Now button, or with the pledge cards we recently sent to our community. Still others give directly from their IRA, which can provide important benefits.
As member and volunteer Carol Takaki wrote last year about her experience in giving via her IRA:
“I have been using a little known method for donating. The funds are taken directly from my IRA MRD (minimum required distribution). This reduces my income on the front of my 1040. I learned that this only works for those over 70 ½ and that it might not benefit all taxpayers. One needs to check with an accountant or financial advisor. However, it is really easy. A check is made out directly to the charity from the IRA account administrator.”
