NATURE WALK: Easy ramble through a small maze of trails, Good views of the BAy and "Quirky" Art
Description: Wide dirt trail (fire road) explores the bulb-shaped point that juts out into San Francisco Bay. Many smaller trails branch off leading to the best views of the bay and the quirky artwork.
Where to meet: Meet at the far west end of Buchanan Street near the north side of the parking lot for Golden Gate Fields Race Track
What to bring: Good hiking shoes or boots for the trails, layered clothing for variable weather, water, windbreaker, snacks. Hiking poles are optional, but a good idea. Rain cancels.
How to get there:
Directions: From highway 80East, take the Buchanan St. exit. Bear left to head west on Buchanan, following the sign "to Racetrack". Follow Buchanan to the very end (less than 1/4 mile) and find free parking as close to the west end as possible.
From the intersection of Marin Dr/Buchanan and San Pablo Ave, take Buchanan west, under the freeway and follow to the very west end where you will find free parking.
