What to bring: Good shoes for walking, layered clothing for variable weather, walking poles can be helpful particularly if it has been raining and there are puddles, water.

Directions: Hwy 13 south to Park Ave Exit. Left onto Park Ave, then Left onto Mountain Boulevard, then Right onto Snake. When Snake takes a sharp left turn, instead go straight ahead onto Shepherd Canyon Road to the top of the hill at Skyline Blvd, and turn Right.  Follow Skyline south to the parking lot for the Skyline Staging Area.  The lot may be crowded as this is a popular trail.  If this is the case, park along Skyline Blvd.
