EmeryBunch Documentary Film Group
This film group was inspired by the Clarewood Film Group and evolved out of our “Happiest Hour” which we started on ZOOM when the pandemic started. So far we have watched on our own and later discussed on ZOOM “Searching for Sugarman”, “13th” and “The Human Element”. At our November meeting we will discuss “RBG”.
The documentary film of Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s life was a surprise box office success in the summer of 2018. By then Ginsberg, Supreme Court Justice of 25 years, had not only become a fighter for gender equality but also a beloved late-life rockstar among young people, nicknamed “Notorious R.B.G”. Ginsberg passed away in September 2020 at the age of 87. A female judge with much more conservative convictions has just been appointed to the Supreme Court. So it is a timely film to watch and discuss. The film is easy to access through the internet, though you might have to pay, e.g., $ 2.99 on YouTube.
