NATURE WALK: JEWEL LAKE, TILDEN PARK EASY/ MODERATE OPTIONS
When: Monday, May 3 10am - 12 noon
Where: Tilden Park Environmental Education Area (Little Farm) at the northern end of Tilden Park. Meet in the parking lot.
Open to: Members, volunteers and their guests
Accessibility: Walkers okay, not wheelchair accessible
Description: Very scenic 2 mi hike with options for shorter (1 mi flat) or longer (up to 4-5 mi with a climb to Wildcat Peak) Wide trails, easy turnback. Several leaders will be available to accommodate trail selection and distance/speed abilities. Rain cancels but drizzle or iffy weather is OK.
What to bring: Good hiking shoes or boots for the trails, layered clothing for variable weather, water, windbreaker, snacks. Hiking poles are optional, but always a good idea for the longer option.
Directions: From North Berkeley take Spruce St to the top, to junction with Grizzly Peak Blvd. Cross the intersection and bear left, down Canon Drive. At end of Canon drive turn left into the large parking lot for the Tilden Environmental Education Area (Little Farm) where we'll meet.
