The Most Dangerous Man in America
Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers
92 minutes
This acclaimed documentary provides insight into the actions of Daniel Ellsberg, a leading American military strategist, who in 1971 leaked the Pentagon Papers, a massive top-secret document that pointed to government deception about the Vietnam War. The film looks at Ellsberg himself and at the repercussions of his surprising revelations, which led to a media circus and ultimately contributed to ending both the Vietnam conflict and the presidency of Richard Nixon.
Emery Bunch member Tobey Klein has arranged for one of the directors, Rick Goldsmith, to join us for comments and questions at 5:00 PM. We would like to have a good turnout so that Rick feels like it was worth his time.
The film is available for free on Kanopy with your Berkeley Library membership, or you can rent it from Vimeo.com for $4.99. Please watch it before the discussion.
