Park to Park Walk: Cedar Rose Park via Ohlone Greenway to Solano - Flat, easy 2 mile round trip - Lunch is an option!

When: Monday, Sept 13 10am - 12 noon ( if you are having lunch it might run longer)

Where: Meet at Cedar Rose Park 1300 Rose St., Berkeley

Open to: Members and their guests, and Volunteers 

Accessibility: Accessible to hikers with walkers  

Description:   This walk is especially good for those who may have mobility and stamina concerns, as it is flat and paved. We will meet at Cedar Rose Park, on the Cedar side, where there are benches and a bathroom.  We will walk north along the Ohlone Greenway, enjoying two Community Gardens, and enjoying the interesting murals that line the Greenway.   We will walk leisurely to Solano Ave, learning the past history of Berkeley and the Greenway, and finish at  the miniature Park across the road from the Albany Senior Center.  On the way, we can stop at the Albany Library where there are public bathrooms.  Optional lunch at the Creperie, Cafe Raj, among others. (Bring a mask for restrooms or restaurants!) We will return the same way.  The walk is two miles round trip.

What to bring: Good walking shoes, layered clothing for variable weather, water. 

Transit:   Members can contact Ashby Village for a volunteer ride service. You may invite a friend to bring you, as well.


Covid-19 Precautions:
As it is outdoors, If you are vaccinated, you don’t need to wear a mask. If you are not vaccinated, you must wear a mask. Bring a mask, just in case it is needed to go into places for restrooms or a restaurant if you are having lunch!
