Judith Coburn, a local private detective, will speak on "SCAMS, HACKS and SPAM: How to avoid ripoffs on the Internet and your smart phone."
SCAMS, HACKS and SPAM—How to protect yourself from the bad folks on the Internet and your phones. While tech writers are lamenting we have no more privacy left (and they may be right), there are things you can do to protect yourself from fraudsters and hackers. Tips from a private investigator.
Judith Coburn has been a private investigator for 13 years, focusing on defense of people charged with the deathpenalty. Before that, she was a journalist for 40 years, covering the wars in Vietnam, Central America and the Middle East for many media outlets including The VIllage Voice, the Sunday magazines of the LA Times and SF Chronicle and Mother Jones. She is an Ashby Village vounteer.
